I finally finished my short graduation movie! After my exam I found some mistakes that need to be taken care of (nitpicking me). After I’m a 100% done I’ll post the final movie and some progress videos of the composites! But for now some stills! Enjoy!

p.s. THE FOUNDRY’s NUKE ROCKS!!!

My very professional superstar girlfriend Lois van Baarle drew the logo mascot. A stylish and detailed 2d rendering of Manfred, scary!!

Rain tests

Posted in maya on 19 January 2010 by Arjen Klaverstijn – 1 Comment

Today I did a quick test with maya’s N particle system. The goal was to see if I was able to make something that looked like rain that interacts with objects (passive colliders). I used collision events to make the splash on objects colliding with a particle. The particles are rendered using maya’s hardware renderer.

The next step is to tweak the effect and render it in mental ray with z-depth, motion blur, shadows etc.

Bye for now!

Experiments

Posted in General on 18 August 2009 by Arjen Klaverstijn – Be the first to comment

The last couple of months I’ve been bussy with experimenting with all sorts of programmes and working on my technical skills. The results where nice but not always that interesting or suited for the format my portfolio website is made in. I decided to start a blog to post small snippets, tutorials, clips, sketches or news on! I hope you’ll enjoy not only my finished pieces but also renderings of my progress. Expect more soon and don’t forget to subscribe to my RSS feed! Bye for now.
